Christmas is near!

WOW! I can't believe Christmas is here again. It seems as though the semester just started and yet here I am half way through my second year of teaching. I have been doing the Christmas story with my students this week. The question they have all had is "when Jesus was born, who made me?" or "When Jesus was a baby, who made everything?" I had never heard that perspective given before. I suppose it does seem as though when Jesus left heaven, the world stopped turning. I think of that song from the Messiah by Handel: "Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion!" I have so much to rejoice about: a break from school; seeing family and friends; meeting my brother's fiance; move into a new house. I may need a break from my break :) I have to say that I will miss Ghana and my community here in Accra, but it will be nice to be home.
