I had an opportunity share Christ with my students. On Thursday, we were finishing our discussion about the 10 plagues of Egypt. When we talked about the first born son being killed and how the Israelites killed a lamb without blemish and put its blood on the doorposts, I explained how this pointed to Christ. He was perfect and died for us so that we could live with him. I don't know if the students fully understood it, but hopefully seeds were planted. It was one of those moments where everyone was listening and all eyes were on me. I thank God for those opportunity. Please pray for us as we talk about the Christmas story this coming week.

15 days left in this semester!! I can't believe how quickly it has gone. These last few weeks are slipping through my fingers like sand. Everything is going well. Students and staff are healthy and ready for Christmas! The Pink House is complete!! The girls moved in last week. They finally get to unpack. Thank you for all your prayers. I wish everyone a happy thanksgiving; I am thankful for you all. Pictures up soon.

I just wanted to post some pictures of the improved kindergarten room. I took the playhouse out and created a lot more space which was just what my sanity ordered! :) Thank you all for the prayers. Please pray that teachers will stay well and for Joyce Crosby (my director's wife) as she is recovering from pneumonia. The picture of me and two other girls was when we went out for sushi ;) The girl on the left is Lauren the art teacher and my fellow Auburn fan!! See ya'll soon!

Hi everyone!  I have a prayer request.  My roommate Meg is having trouble with her voice.  About three or four days a week, she loses her voice.  This wouldn't be of concern but she teaches 6th and 7th grade.  She thinks it may be allergies but is not sure.  If you would please pray for her that her voice would get better.  Thanks for all your prayers for me!  It boosts my energy to think of all the people praying.

Can you believe it is already October?!  WOW  Thank you for all your prayers.  Our container will hopefully be here on Monday.  It is in port; we are just waiting to get it.  I have about 2 months of school before Christmas.  Time is flying by.  Everything is going well.  The children and I are adjusting and learning all about kindergarten. :) It is a process.  One of my students will be leaving soon.  Please pray for him as he transitions out of one school and into another one.  Otherwise, I hope everyone is doing well, and, God willing, I will see you all very soon.

Fun

Yesterday was Fantastic Fun Friday.  We have been studying the letter Cc and made cat masks.  They also made masks in Art.  I forgot that I can't post pics on here.  One child didn't wear his mask.  For their safety therefore, I can't put it up.  Sorry

ATTN: Prayer Warriors

Greetings to all from Ghana.  I am writing to ask specific prayers for three teachers here.  Lauren, Anne Clair and Kim are waiting for their house to be completed, so they are currently living with families or other teachers.  Please pray that their house will be finished soon.  Also, even if it is completed, all the furniture is on the container that is currently in the Atlantic Ocean somewhere.  Please pray that it gets here soon.  Thank you for all the prayers and support.

School

We had parent orientation tonight!  It was fun.  School has been postponed until next Monday, the 24th.  We are all happy about that because no one's room is ready.  Thanks to everyone who prayed though because much progress has been made.  My room is very close to being completed!!!! Happy day.  I will post pictures soon.  Please pray for all the teachers and staff as we prepare.  God is so faithful.

I love Africa!!!

I really like it here.  I feel kind  of like an old pro....until the teachers who have already been here a couple of years.  I do have pictures now and will post directly.  I went to the orphanage that's a block away from the school today.  OH WOW!!!!!!!  I was in love!!  We(me and my two housemates) went out back and were immediately swarmed by children.  I was holding two, had one on each leg and one on my waist.  Then, we went inside and fed the babies and rocked them to sleep!!  I have now found my retirement job. :-)  Ok, here come pictures.  Thanks for all your prayers and please keep them coming for the completion of the school!

New country....new home

I made it safely to Accra! It is wonderful here especially because we are in the cool season. This is something like fall in Alabama. I really like it here already and can't wait for school to start. One prayer request is that the school and the other house for teachers are completed by the time school starts (Aug. 19). As soon as I get internet at my house, I will post pictures.

Lots of love

I have one week left in Alabama before I leave for Ghana.  I can't believe it is so close and, at the same time, it seems as though it will never come.  WOW!
